Last night I wandered over to Burbank with my friend Jen to check out and LA Green Drinks event and a new store called Mindful Nest. The space has a great feel as soon as you walk in, and the owners will really make you feel welcome. You will leave smelling yummy too since Jennifer of KLEAN makes her wonderful smelling products on site, and there are plenty of samples for you to try out. Apparently you can even mix your own and they will put your name on the bottle. I've been buying KLEAN products for a few years now and they are always a hit when I give them as gifts.
The idea behind this store is simple, it says on their facebook page, "Please come visit us and share in our love of handmade-artisan gifts.
We support small American companies and focus on a more "mindful"
approach to shopping." They stock "adornments for the home body and soul." I even found some new artists I had not seen before. Amanda is a co-owner and was the manager of Handmade Galleries for 10 years and she is so excited about her dream becoming a reality you will just love shopping in this store. I bought a few KLEAN products for my sister's upcoming birthday while there last night.
It really is so much more fun to shop for gifts at shops like this than at the mall, Target, or some other store filled with mass-produced items. They really found the perfect location for their shop and did a fantastic job decorating.

It just makes me happy to hear about stores like this opening up and people realizing their dreams and visions. It is really inspiring and I wish Amanda and Jennifer all sorts of luck and success in the future.
